PMI-GLC Members Honored by ESD

PMI-GLC honored two of its longest serving board members, Neil Goldman and Gil Rollins, at the Engineering Society of Detroit’s (ESD) annual Gold Award ceremony on March 29.  Dr. Bill Moylan presented Neil and Gil each with the “Distinguished Leadership Award” for their exceptional service with PMI-GLC.

Neil Goldman received his award for the numerous leadership positions he has held within the chapter, such as President, VP of Finance, VP of Membership, VP of Education, and currently serving as the Director of Seminars.  Gil Rollins has been a member of PMIGLC since 1996 and is the longest continuously serving member of the Board of Directors.  Gil is currently serving as the VP of Finance, and has previously held the positions of VP of Membership, VP of Administration, and the Director of Financial Operations.

The Gold Award ceremony, which was held at the Henry Ford College in Dearborn, recognized outstanding members from professional associations within the surrounding area.  Awardees from local associations included the Society of Women Engineers, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the International Council on Systems Engineering, and several other engineering societies.

Professional Development Opportunities

Update - On-Demand Access to Monthly Meetings and Seminars

This is a progress update from the team of PMI-GLC volunteers that have undertaken development of an on-demand rebroadcast option for monthly meetings and seminars. The intent is to increase membership value by providing a way to obtain Professional Development training that you’d really like to attend in-person, but occasionally cannot attend - due to other commitments. Requirements have been developed; vendors have quoted; media equipment has been purchased, and the initiative is beginning a testing phase. If you’d like to be involved at some level of the testing and final development, let us know. The PMI-GLC volunteer team would like your inputs regarding perceived value to you and suitability of the platform to meet your needs. We encourage you to join the conversation, and speak-up if this potential new benefit is of interest to you.  Thanks to those who have already provided their valuable inputs. Learn More.
